Historic visit of His Majesty King Hassan II to the United States (1963)

In March 1963, His Majesty King Hassan II made his first State visit to the United States as President Kennedy’s guest. During their deliberations, spanning various high-level meetings, His Majesty and his delegation engaged with President Kennedy and senior U.S. officials on a broad spectrum of topics of mutual interest. His Majesty the King articulated Morocco's stance on international affairs and economic development, particularly emphasizing the nation's alignment with U.S. objectives in promoting peace and liberty, as well as the growing significance of Africa in American foreign policy.
President Kennedy, in turn, outlined U.S. perspectives on East-West relations, disarmament, and the overarching imperative of safeguarding the independence and freedom of nations globally. Additionally, avenues for continued U.S. support for Morocco's economic development were explored within the framework of long-standing bilateral ties and cooperation.
