Director of the United States Agency for International Development in Morocco (USAID-Morocco), Dana Mansuri, commended, Thursday in Rabat, the results of the cooperation program with the House representatives (lower house).

During talks with Speaker of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, Mansuri expressed her willingness to continue cooperation with the House in areas falling within the prerogatives of the legislative institution, given its centrality in Morocco's institutional system, said a statement by the lower house.

For his part, El Malki praised the results of the previous cooperation program with the Agency, stressing that the House is open to successful international experiences in the parliamentary field.

In this regard, he highlighted the developments in the rules of procedure of the House, approved the year before, stressing the importance of strengthening the capacity of the legislative institution in the exercise of its functions, consolidating the relationship with citizens and opening up to civil society.

The two officials also examined cooperation between the House and the Agency, which was launched in 2004 after the signing of an agreement covering the period 2004-2009, in order to support the institutional capacities of the lower house, the statement said.
