Art: Tribute to His Majesty the King Mohammed VI by Jazzman Randy Weston

During the opening ceremony of the Jazz Appreciation Month in Washington, D.C., at the National Museum of American History, on April 9th, 2013, the famous American Pianist, Composer, and Bandleader Randy Weston paid tribute to His Majesty the King Mohammed VI for His support to arts and artists.

In a declaration to the press, Randy Weston also highlighted the great diversity of Moroccan music, considering that it is "rich with its tributaries beit in mountainous areas, in the Sahara or else in the differents cities". He affirmed that he feels himself "priviledged to have visited, lived and inter-acted with the Moroccans who hold a special place in (his) heart".

The Ambassador Rachad Bouhlal took part at this ceremony as one of Randy Weston's personal invitees to this 12th Annual Global Celebration that featured, in addition to Randy Weston, Horacio Hendandez, and the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Quintet.
