Morocco signs a Memorandum of Understanding with NOVA Community College in Alexandria, Virginia

On April 20, 2015, the Kingdom of Morocco signed with NOVA "Northern Virginia Community College" in Alexandria, a Memorandum of Understanding as part of the reinforcement of bilateral cooperation related to Education and Vocational Training.

This very important agreement seeks to promote cooperation on vocational training through the exchanges of students and teachers visits as well as the setting up of joint research programs and technical assistance. The agreement also opens doors for Moroccan-US students and faculty members to exchange visits for short- and long-term programs.

The Memorandum was signed in presence of the Minister Delegate of Vocational Training, Abdeladim El Guerrouj, the Ambassador of Morocco to the United States, Rachad Bouhlal, Paul McVeigh, Vice president of Global Studies at NOVA, Dr. Chad Knights, Acting dean for NOVA's Division of Science, Technology and Business as well members from the Moroccan delegation.

This is the first agreement concluded between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America in the field of Education and Vocational Training and the first memorandum ever signed in Northern Africa.

The prominent Community College currently has 1,661 international students enrolled for the spring semester. Of that number, 29 are from Morocco. Twenty of them attend classes at the Alexandria campus and nine in Annandale.
