IOC vice-President AND Former Moroccan Olympic gold medalist Mrs. Nawal El Moutawakil awarded in the International Women Forum in San Francisco, October 26,2012.

On October 26, 2012, Ambassador Rachad Bouhlal attended the International Women Forum in San Francisco in celebration of the annual International Hall of Fame in recognition of the accomplishments of trailblazing women leaders.

This year, three distinguished women were acknowledged for their outstanding achievements and participation in building a better world: Mrs. Nawal El Moutawakil, the first Moroccan, Arab and African Olympic gold medalist and actual Vice-President of the International Olympic Committee; Mrs. Nancy Pelosi, former Speaker of the US House of Representatives and Mrs. Patricia Summit, the famous U.S Basketball coach.

During this event, Ambassador Bouhlal had the privilege to introduce Mrs. El Moutawakil, the first Arab woman awarded in the 30 year history of the International Hall of Fame, to an audience of more than 1200 world leaders in politics, sport, business and media highlighting her unique professional career and path that reflects the spirit of openness and tolerance prevailing in Morocco as well as the authenticity and uniqueness of the Moroccan model in the region.

Ambassador Bouhlal also underlined the role of women in the Moroccan society under the leadership and the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who, since His enthronement, is determined to consolidate and promote women rights and elevate their valuable contribution to the development of the country.
