The fourth edition of the Crans Montana Forum opened, Friday under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, with the participation of over 1,000 guests and senior officials representing more than 100 countries.

The opening ceremony of this edition, held for the fourth consecutive time in the Moroccan southern city of Dakhla, was marked by a message sent by HM the King to the participants, read by president of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, Ynja Khattat.

This major event, to run until March 20, brings together more than a thousand participants and personalities from over a hundred countries, including 49 African States besides representatives of several international and regional organizations.

This year, former Heads of State and government, ministers, presidents of parliaments, policymakers, MPs and international experts gathered in Dakhla to discuss sustainable development, South-South cooperation and Africa's different challenges in the era of globalization.

The Geneva-based forum is an international organization working to "encourage international cooperation and global growth and to promote a high level of stability, equity and security".
