11/11/2017

Prime minister of Saint Lucia, president of the secretariat of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Allen Michael Chastanet reaffirmed, Saturday in Rabat, OECS's support for Morocco's territorial integrity.

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States will do everything in its power to preserve the territorial integrity of Morocco, said Chastanet in a statement to the press after a meeting with head of government Saâd Eddine El Othmani, as part of a working visit to the Kingdom.

Chastanet said the meeting was an occasion to examine means to foster bilateral cooperation, via opening an OECS diplomatic office in Morocco and reinforcing relations with Morocco in the private sector.

El Othmani highlighted the importance of Chastanet's visit to Morocco which helped reaffirm the support of Saint Lucia to Morocco's territorial integrity.

The talks were an occasion to discuss the promotion of bilateral ties in different fields of cooperation through the signature of trade cooperation agreements with the Organization, said El Othmani.

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States is an inter-governmental organisation dedicated to economic harmonisation and integration, protection of human and legal rights, and the encouragement of good governance between countries in the Eastern Caribbean.
