The Magic of Morocco Festival Kicks off in Washington DC
The Magic of Morocco Festival officially kicked off on Friday in Washington DC, with a view to highlighting the splendor of the culture of Morocco.

The event opened in the presence of minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicrafts and Social Economy, Mohamed Sajid, and Morocco’s ambassador to the United States, Lalla Joumala Alaoui.

Speaking on this occasion, Sajid said that the festival is an opportunity to showcase Morocco’s handicraft products, noting that the organization of this event mirrors the fruitful relations between the United States and the Kingdom of Morocco, which are based on mutual respect, dialogue and cooperation.

The agreements signed between the two countries have significantly increased trade in handicrafts, he added.

"Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI is proud to share its values of peace and diversity with the American nation," the minister pointed out.

For his part, former US ambassador to Morocco Dwight L. Bush said that this “wonderful event shows the beauty and diversity of Morocco’s millennia-old culture.”

The former diplomat told MAP that the festival, which showcases beautiful handicrafts, will contribute to the strengthening of the strong relations between Morocco and the United States
