Celebrating "His Majesty King Mohammed VI Week in Hawaii",Honolulu November 28- December 2


The Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Hawaii have long shared interests and have built over the past decade friendly and mutually beneficial relations allowing building bridges between the two parties.

In this respect and as a token of this friendship, the State of Hawaii decided to celebrate "His Majesty King Mohammed VI Week in Hawaii", in recognition of His Majesty's efforts to promote bilateral cooperation, longstanding friendship and shared universal values.

A large delegation from Morocco, including the Minister of Youth and Sports, officials, academics, musicians, artists, and journalists, were in Honolulu, for a cultural, academic and economic exchange.

"His Majesty King Mohammed VI Week in Hawaii", was inaugurated by the reading of a Royal Message addressed by His Majesty the King to the people of Hawaii by the Minister of Youth and Sports. His Majesty's Week was also marked by the unveiling of a Stele of Peace dedicated to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, at the Millennium Peace Garden at Diamond Head Park. In addition, an authentic Moroccan Fountain gifted by the People of Morocco to the people of Hawaii was inaugurated at the Hawaii State Art Museum (HiSAM).

Moreover, "His Majesty King Mohammed VI Week in Hawaii", featured and highlighted handicraft exhibits, forums, surfing competitions, a film screening, a traditional fashion show and Moroccan Music performances.

This prestigious event marked also the signing of the twining Agreement between the State of Hawaii and the Greater Region of Rabat, Sale-Zemmour-Zaer as well as the signing of several Memoranda of Agreement related to Tourism, International Trade, Education, Urban Planning and Sea Sports.

A diner offered by His Majesty the King Mohammed VI marked the conclusion of this prestigious event.
