Conference given by Ambassador Rachad Bouhal at Los Angeles World Affairs Council, on November 13th, 2012.

Ambassador Rachad Bouhlal animated, on November 13th 2012, at Jonathan Club in Los Angeles, a conference on the “Morocco and the Arab Spring”, in which he explained the economic and political context that led to ongoing changes in the region of Middle East and North Africa. He also shared his thoughts on how these changes would likely to impact the future of the whole region.

Furthermore, Ambassador Bouhlal briefed the audience on the latest developments of the Moroccan Sahara Issue. In this regard, he underscored the broad lines of the Autonomy Plan that Morocco had proposed to achieve a peaceful and lasting solution to this regional dispute.

Ambassador Bouhlal talked also about the bilateral relations with The US and highlighted the longstanding unbroken ties between Morocco and the US that goes back deep in history and covers many fields of mutual interest.

During this visit, the county of Los Angeles proclaimed November 13th, 2012 as "Morocco Day" Throughout Los Angeles County. This decision came as a token of the privileged partnership and secular and exceptional relations between Morocco and the United States.
